Clément Petit is in his first year of university, studying a computer science bachelor degree at Royal Holloway. As part of a summer internship with the smart card center, Clément also researches into creating a transparent supply chain for supermarket products. This would allow for an easier just-in-time delivery structure in companies, and would enable consumers to visualise the provenance and supply chain of their products. The crux of the research is in decentralising the data using blockchain technology, removing the need for trusting other companies in the supply chain. He also researches in protecting data in smart contracts through encryption.
