Dr Keith Mayes, Director of the ISG Smart Card Centre at Royal Holloway, University of London, has completed a solo unsupported cycle ride between Land’s End and John O’Groats, covering more than 1,000 miles.
The trip was to raise money for Cancer Research UK; and Hungerford Round Table agreed to match the direct fundraising up to a further £2,000, and resulted in Dr Mayes raising a minimum of £4,000.

The SCC/ISG has been selected to conduct the counter expertise analysis of the Dutch OV-Chipkaart system on behalf of the Dutch government. It is in response to some
recently published attacks on Mifare Classic smart cards(on which some OV-Chipkaarts are currently based).

The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) awards fellowships to researchers and industrialist who demonstrate successful leadership and outstanding services in the field of engineering and technology before a panel of IET members.
The Information Security Group (ISG) at Royal Holloway, University of London has been awarded the industry prize of the Best Information Security Team (government) at the SC Professional Awards. More details can be found here
